Phi Phi Islands - Koh Phi Phi is located 45km East of Phuket and has some excellent diving sites for all levels of divers. The shallow hard coral gardens you find here making Phi Phi as well a good spot for snorkeling. |
Koh Samui / Koh Tao - These 2 islands located in he Gold of Thailand offer as well diving. The quality of diving is not as good as in the Andaman Sea, but still worth a few dives when you are there. Depending on the season you have a great chance to dive with a whale shark. |
General Info about diving in Thailand
Best Time To Dive Thailand:
The so called best time of the year to dive in Thailand is November to end of April, but you can dive basically all year round. If you ask us we tell you that February to July is the best time for diving as than the visibility is great and less divers are around. Thailand is considered as one of the safest destinations for diving and snorkeling and is a perfect destination for beginners wanting to learn diving, and experienced Divers.
Visibility:
The visibility under water in some places very good, especially on the West coast; which means distances of 30 meters and sometimes even more.
What I will see when diving in Thailand
You can find everything - Underwater mountains, coral gardens, undersea rock formations, hard and soft coral, to whale sharks, silver tips, and manta rays and in the Golf of Thailand also sunken battleships.
Water temperatures:
The water temperatures are always between 28 - 30 ° Celsius. But depending from the time of the year at some point you will e in contact with thermo clines and temperature can drop to 24 °C.
