Underwater Photography Classes – Welcome to Adriano Trapani’s Underwater Photography Course page.
Here at EasyDay Thailand, we are among the pioneers of tailor-made U/W digital photography courses. Our commitment goes beyond “beginners introduction”, we want to make you masters of your underwater camera.
Our unique courses are available in basic, intermediate and advanced levels and can also be combined with PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Specialist and PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialist courses, giving you an accredited certification once completed.

Underwater Photography Classes options
Fast Track Basic – 2 day course (inc 1 day diving)
Day 1 – You will be picked up from your hotel in the morning and brought to our photography course HQ. After introductions and briefing about the course, you will be shown a slideshow of underwater photographers work and given your assignments. You will be taught the basic fundamentals of taking photos underwater and a brief guide to post editing before breaking for lunch. We then head to the pool for the afternoon practical session, where we will focus on mastering buoyancy, a must for any underwater photographer and putting to practice the skills learnt in the morning.
Day 2 – This time we head out to the real “studio” and your choice of one of our local diving destinations (see our diving section). Adriano, a local diving expert, will show you the best of what Thailand diving has to offer, giving you a plenty of opportunities to put your newly learnt bouyancy and photography skills to practice.

- How to get the best wide angle shots from your camera
- Post editing; cropping, retouching, sharpening, printing and publishing.

Basic Plus – 3 day course
Our Basic Plus 3 day course includes a full post production workshop on Day 3, teaching you the basic essentials in image enhancements, using various dedicated photo editing software, as well as giving you hints and tips on your photos. During this workshop you will increase your understanding of your own work and needs in order to improve your photography, ensuring that you have stunning results every time. There will also be an opportunity for you to show case your work at the end of the day.
Price: THB 13,800 per person
Intermediate – 3 day course
Day 1 – Technical Skills – In the morning session, we will have a quick recap of the fundamentals of underwater photography and camera settings before reviewing some of your previous work and develop assignments based on your individual wants and needs. The afternoon session will focus on ‘Mastering editing software’ and developing your eye for great U/W shots.
Day 2 – Practical session – Diving at a destination of your choice (see our diving section).
Day 3 – Post production workshop – During the morning session, using the skills and techniques learnt on Day 1, you will now post edit the photos taken on Day 2 using various software and effects. In the afternoon the final critique session will take place followed by a photo show case of your work.

- Camera settings; underwater mode vs manual
- JPEG vs RAW
- Using flash and strobes
- White balance
- Depth of field
- The art of composition, including framing, movement and lighting
- Perfecting your macro
- Choosing your subjects
- Learn various dedicated photo editing software
Course pre-requists for Advanced course: PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent with 50 or more logged dives and Dived within the last year (or completed a Scuba Review during Day 1).
Price: THB 15,300 per person
Advanced – 4 day course (inc 2 days diving)
The course structure is extended to 4 days, giving you the chance to further develop your underwater photographing techniques and explore more of Phuket’s top dive sites. During Day 3 of the course you will have post edited the diving photos taken on Day 2 and you will have begun to develop an “eye” for what makes a great U/W photo and also your own personal style. With a new personalised assignment, you put all of these techniques in to practice on Day 4.
Throughout the course, photo critique will take place, giving you hints and advice on your photography to aid in improvement and mastery. Course pre-requisits for Basic and Intermediate courses: PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent and Dived with in the last 6 months.
Price: THB 17,200 per person
All photo courses include: Pick up to and from your hotel, lunch, tea/coffee, Underwater Photography manual and diving as specified in the course outline.
Not include: rental scuba diving equipment, camera
